"Medicaid Benefits: Online Database," Kaiser Commission on Medicaid and the Uninsured: The Kaiser Family Foundation's Commission on Medicaid and the Uninsured has updated its interactive online Medicaid database, which contains information on programs in the 50 states; Washington, D.C.; and U.S. territories. The online tool contains Medicaid benefits survey data from 2003, 2004 and 2006 with information on benefits covered, limits, copayments and reimbursements (Kaiser Family Foundation release, 8/16).
"Children's Eligibility and Coverage: Recent Trends and a Look Ahead," Health Affairs: In the Web exclusive, economists Julie Hudson and Thomas Selden of the Center for Financing, Access and Cost Trends at the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality use data from the 1996-2005 Medical Expenditure Panel Survey to track changes in children's public insurance eligibility and coverage. Hudson and Selden also provide estimates of the characteristics, age, race/ethnicity, health status and citizenship of children who are eligible for Medicaid or SCHIP but are not enrolled. In addition, Hudson and Selden discuss the potential impact of changes to SCHIP income thresholds and estimate the number of children who would be affected by such changes. The paper is the fourth in a Health Affairs series on SCHIP (Hudson/Selden, Health Affairs, 8/16).
